Super Saturday living up to its name!
The FIRST ever UK team to make the Cross Fit Games and again in 2019. Names such as Steve Fawcett and Megan Lovegrove all have one thing in common when it comes to being really bloody good at adult PE (well....ok probably a few things in common, but you get my drift).
They are JST Compete athletes.
This weekend saw the first combined competitive programme sessions being held across Europe. 21 different gyms from 6 countries took part, plus individuals in Australia and the Falkland Islands!
Steve Fawcett, head honcho and long time CrossFit badass says -
This is how JST Compete started, as a group of athletes if we couldn't train together in the week, we would get together on a Saturday. It's the staple of training that helped me and the guys advance! I wanted to try and bring this to gyms across Europe and globally.
JST Compete provides the programming for the day and after training, you can enter your scores to our online leaderboard for the community. Steve goes on to explain what motivated him to create this concept -
"I wanted to get that competitive environment. JST is online as an entity so with Corona Virus we adapted well and kept people going, its been good to get it back into the gym - despite the restrictions of social distancing, the atmosphere was still as good as it always was!"
It seems Steve isn't the only one who felt the atmosphere was vibin'. Livvy Tom, CrossFit Nurse, was really impressed with the good vibes. (If you've had the chance to see some of POD's coverage of Livvy, you will already be in the know that she is a JST gal).
"The programming is similar to the normal JST programme, but the vibe was so much bigger, PB's, people maxxing out. Super Saturday living up to its name!"
Don't be put off though - even noobie WIT lover Francesco has enjoyed getting involved:
"I've only been doing cross fit for about 5 weeks and I feel like every time I attend a JST class I always learn something new."
A typical session will include:

This is solid proof that it MATTERS who you have around you. Adapting and overcoming obstacles is key to progressing yourself in the area you choose, but also that its vital to seek the vibe that will raise you up to do this!
With so many programmes available and open gym perhaps being a primary option for athletes wishing to work on their weaknesses, having a vehicle to connect and ride a vibe transcends the isolation of corona-times and also that potential solo-training habit. Exclusivity isn't going to cut it any more. This concept is immediately available and free allowing all people to get involved - kudos JST!⠀
